Salt Dough Hearts

In the last days we have made hearts (among other things) out of salt dough. See the instructions below.

Salt Dough Recipe

1 cup salt
2-3 cups of flour
1 cup of water
Mix together and kneed into a smoth dough.

We used a biscuit heart shape and poked the holes with a chop-stick. We dried the salt dough figures in the oven for about two hours at 90 C.
When they were cool we painted them red, and when completely dry, we varnished them with an all purpose varnish and let them dry over night.
We pulled a thick black string through the hole to wear round the neck or hang up on the wall.

Offering

Sacred Heart, Catholic Joy, Bernice Zieba

My God, I offer You all my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings in union with the Sacred Heart of Jesus, for the intentions for which He pleads and offers Himself in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, in thanksgiving for Your favours, in reparation for my sins, and in humble supplication for my temporal and eternal welfare, for the needs of our holy Mother the Church, for the conversion of sinners, and for the relief of the poor souls in purgatory.
