Our 9 year old son celebrated his First Holy Communion on Sunday a week ago. It was an occasion to get together as a whole family, including guests from Poland. Below are two images with all our 7 children (at last).
The First Communion children were together with their families in the Church pews and wore a red sash, so the congregation would recognise them. Seeing them walking in with rosaries between their folded hands, felt very Catholic. I am grateful for our Parish, which consists of a lively mix of the faithful of all ages and from all over the world.
Receiving Holy Communion, Jesus Christ in the holy Eucharist, for the first time was a very special occasion for our son. He has been attending preparation classes in the parish for over half a year. After Church we enjoyed a savoury meal in town.
