Wir sind in diesen Sommerferien einige Tage in England herumgereist. Auf dem Weg nach Walsingham (ich bin das meiste zu Fuss gepilgert, aber davon ein anderes Mal) – besuchten wir Kloster- und Burgruinen in Castle Acre. Wir waren auch in High Lodge – bei einem tollen Spielplatz im Brandon-Wald, sowie am Brancaster-Strand.
Am Wochenende darauf besuchten wir zusammen mit unseren Verwandten aus den USA das Naturreservat in Fowlmere und dann hatten wir ein spontanes Familien-Treffen auf dem Robinswood-Hügel bei Gloucester. Es lohnte sich auf die Hügelspitze zu krakeln – von dort genossen wir eine fantastische Aussicht.
We’ve been spending some of our summer holidays, traveling around in England. On the way to Walsingham (I did most of the pilgrimage by foot, I tell more of this another time*) – we visited the priory and castle ruins in Castle Acre. We had also been to High Lodge – at a great playground in Brandon Forest and to Brancaster Beach.
The following weekend we visited the Fowlmere Nature Reserve together with relatives from the USA. We had a spontaneous family meeting on Robinswood Hill, near Gloucester. The fantastic view from the hilltop was certainly worth the walk!
